Welcome to OPT-Timeline!

The data is only for I-765s. YSC series tracking numbers also contain other types of forms e.g. I-130, I-601A etc, those are filtered out. I make no differentitation between the Initial OPT cases and STEM Extensions, the data you see is combined (initial+stem). Unfortunately the data taken from USCIS is also not enough to determine whether the I-765s are only OPT or not. Other applicants that also use I-765 for employment authorization include asylum seekers, H4 holders etc. Asylum Seekers have a relatively shorter processing time. USCIS' website does not have any information to indicate that there is any difference in processing time of other non-OPT I-765s and OPT I-765s.
When is the data on OPT timeline tracker updated?
Updates start at noon EST, I try to make sure that you see the most anticipated updates as soon as possible. The exact algorithm is a closely guarded secret. ;)
Data for Feb 2019 and before that is incomplete, it is because most of these cases were already approved. I wanted to save on my server costs so I did not save the already approved cases. March 2019 onwards should be mostly complete. Additionally there are some older cases that were already in a special status (e.g. "Case Was Sent To The Department of State") when I created my website so I didnt have a receipt date for them. They should still be visible through their receipt numbers though.
Every 1-2 weeks.
Approved = Case approved, card produced/mailed etc. Pending = Received+any other updates like fingerprinting etc.
No, approvals are not double counted. e.g. If a status changes to card produced and then later to card mailed, the approval is only counted the first time. If for some reason the status changes from Received--> "Card being produced", and then to "card shipped" before my database is updated then I still count that as an approval but with an approval date of the latest status message.
Either USCIS has people working on weekends, or, the updates are pushed to their system slowly over time. Your guess is as good as mine. No, it is not a bug in my site. I actually manually checked some cases just to make sure.
Again, I am not an USCIS official and cant answer this question. Perhaps some USCIS workers are faster than others. Β―\_(ツ)_/Β―. We dont know how cases are distributed and handled internally.
P.S. This is not a bug either.
